TCA Mission
At The College Academy we are resolved to embrace a collective growth mindset to strive steadily towards success in both college and career. We believe that students learn best when we purposefully plan to make content comprehensible to all our learners. We make content comprehensible through explicit instruction, creating opportunities for independent practice and/or group activities that cognitively engage students in rich interactions (discussion) and thinking about their learning. Formative assessment through continual checks for understanding and targeted feedback to students are central to supporting our philosophy.

Theory of Action
If the Principal, Assistant Principals, and Instructional Support Staff analyze baseline data to know every student well then the teachers will be able to unpack the curriculum & post content and language objectives to support depth of knowledge by asking students to justify and explain their thinking, so that students will be able to build efficacy and have the foundational skills to attain mastery on content and Regents exams.
